Signing In With a Passkey
A passkey is the strongest and simplest way to sign in. Instead of a password, you unlock your account with the same thing you use to unlock your device: your fingerprint, your face, a PIN, or a hardware security key.
Passkeys cannot be phished or reused, so a passkey replaces both your password and a separate two-factor code.
What you need
- A device with a screen lock or biometrics (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello) or a hardware security key.
- A browser that supports passkeys. Most current browsers do.
- To be signed in already the first time, so you can add your passkey.
Adding a passkey
- Sign in normally (magic link, password, or single sign-on).
- Open Account Settings and go to the Security section.
- Under Passkeys, click Add passkey.
- Give it a name you will recognize, such as "Work laptop" or "iPhone."
- Follow your device's prompt to confirm with your fingerprint, face, PIN, or security key.
Your passkey is now saved to your account. You can add more than one, for example one per device.
Signing in with a passkey
- Go to your company's sign-in page (the workspace login page).
- When at least one passkey exists for your company, a Sign In with Passkey button appears below the password field.
- Click it and confirm with your fingerprint, face, PIN, or security key.
- You are signed straight in.
If the passkey button does not appear, either no passkey has been registered for your company yet, or your browser does not support passkeys. Use another sign-in method and add a passkey from Account Settings.
Managing your passkeys
In Account Settings > Security > Passkeys you can:
- See every passkey on your account, with when it was created and last used.
- Rename a passkey.
- Delete a passkey you no longer use, for example on a device you have replaced.
Keep at least one other way to sign in (such as a magic link) so you are never locked out if you lose a device.
